Podcast’s popularity has risen along every part of the world in the last few years. Everyone, regardless of their age, has heard a podcast. The most common ones are the specialized podcasts which are about subjects like cooking, informatic or science. This is the case of american newspapers like The New York Times or The Washington Post, which started daily news podcasts to offer a cover on actuality and information. A formula that has been copied by the most important media all around the globe. According to the Reuters digital News Report of 2023, from all the podcasts listeners in the USA over 19 percent listened to a news podcast.
However, this expansion on the podcast industry from big newspapers reduces the possibilities of independent podcasters to grow with their own comments on actuality. What is clear is that traditional media are taking advantage of new trends of spreading information. Adapting to the new times instead of staying the same as always.
