" Rihanna steals the spotlight at Anant Ambani, Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations"
Rihanna performed in a private concert for the Ambani family's pre-wedding celebration of Anant Ambani, Mukesh Ambani's youngest son and Radhika Merchant. Her payment for this unique performance was nine Million Us-Dollars (8.29 Million Euros). It was her first full concert following her eight-year retirement and her first since 2016. Her last public appearances occurred during the prior year's Super Bowl Halftime Show and the Oscars.
Radhika Merchant, the future bride, requested an exclusive performance, therefore Rihanna sang 19 tracks including her most popular ones, such as "Work," "Umbrella," "Bitch Better Have My Money," and "All of the Lights."
The salary of the concert was merely 0.6 percent of the $1,4 billion network she currently owns, which is why there was another reason behind Rihanna's choice to perform at this private event except for financial gain.
She was there for business purposes.
Rihanna is the owner of the skincare line "Fenty Beauty," which is a skincare brand for all kinds of skin types. The brand emerged in 2017 in collaboration with the luxury products specialist French business LVMH.
With a market worth of $2.8 billion, Fenty is sold in the US and UK through Sephora and retailers like "Ulta" and "Boots." Exclusively Sephora stores sell Fenty only in Europe, the Middle East, South-East Asia, Mexico, and Australia. Because Fenty is already well-known outside of India, Rihanna concentrated on Sephora India as a potential new market for her brand. In November 2023, Reliance Retail, a small Indian business which is also owned to a great extent by the Ambani family (50,39%) paid approximately $12 million to Arvind Fashions, the country's top lifestyle company, for the rights to Sephora India. The singer saw this as a chance to introduce her brand in India and build a relationship with the company.
